The Texas Theta Epsilon Chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity was founded on October 12th, 1973. The chapter was formally known as Sigma Phi Chi, a local fraternity. Over the past decade the Texas Theta Epsilon Chapter has undergone some radical changes in size, from a membership of sixty five, to near extinction. Through the inspiration of the visionaries of the Alpha Upsilon, Alpha Chi, and Alpha Psi pledge classes the chapter has made a pheonix-like resurrection to a current membership of Twenty-one strong. With the upcoming introduction of the Alpha Omega Pledge Class, we are well on our way to turning the page of the Alpha Generation and beginning the Beta Legacy. Otis Allen Glazebrook, one of our Founders, would be proud. The Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity is Christian Service Fraternity.
ATO CREED
To bind men together in a brotherhood based upon eternal and immutable principals with a bond as strong as right itself and as lasting as humanity. To know no North, no South, no East, no West, but to know man as man. To teach that true man the world over should stand together to contend for supremacy of good over evil. To teach not politics, but morals. To foster not partisainship, but the recognition of true merit wherever found. To have no narrower limits within which to work together for the elevation of man than the outlines of this world. These were the thoughts and hopes uppermost in the minds of the founders of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
